How does the Dobinsons IMS Monotube Shock compare to other factory shocks?
Factory shocks are digressively valved shocks. They are made for highway driving. Made to keep your vehicle stable on the highway, but not as forgiving on washboard roads. The Dobinsons IMS shocks is LINEAR valved, so it will keep you stable on the highway, but does a much better job soaking up the quick up and downs of washboard roads, dirt trails, and unmaintained roads. Most factory shocks are 2" wide. The Dobinsons IMS shocks are 2.6" wide. A wider shock contains more damping oil making it less prone to overheating and shock fade.
